NOVEMBER 1 -2 was a big weekend for country music in South East Queensland. There was the annual Champion of Champions, Mud Bulls & Music … But the gig we are interested in happened in Gympie on Sunday afternoon when Caitlyn was welcomed home by a sea of fans after being away for months filming the X Factor.
Caitlyn was transported to the stage through the crowd, police escort (on foot) and all in the back of a ute. As one of the sound guys said, “You know you are in the country when the star arrives in the back of a ute”. It even looked as though she was seated upon a bale of hay.
But when she hit the stage, things really started to fire, not only for Caitlyn but also for the band and the audience. The Wolfe Brothers did a great job backing Caitlyn as she did her set, mostly songs she had sung in the X Factor competitions. It was certainly exciting to see that young and old alike enjoyed the afternoon program. Read more
